English: This true-color image of Typhoon Hagibis was captured shortly before sunset on October 7, 2019, at (06:00 UTC), by the Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) instrument flying aboard JMA's Himawari 8 satellite. Hagibis was a large and powerful typhoon that originated from a tropical disturbance by the Marshall Islands during the 2019 Pacific typhoon season in early October 2019. Also, Hagibis would impact Japan later in its life causing $18 Billion USD (2019) in damages making it the costliest Pacific typhoon on record. When this was captured Hagibis was over the open Pacific Ocean at its peak intensity as a Category 5 equivalent typhoon, with winds of 185 mph (298 km/h) (160 knots) on the 1-min Saffir-Simpson scale and winds of 120 mph (190 km/h) on the 10-min JMA typhoon scale making it a "violent typhoon" on that scale, also when this image was taken it had a minimum central pressure of 915 mbar (27.0 inHg).
