English: Drosophila subobscura (male), on a rotting squash (Cucurbita sp.) on the patio table in the garden, near Christchurch Park, Ipswich (TM166450) on 2 Dec 2015. ID confirmed by Paul Beuk, who commented, "It is the only one [species] in the [obscura] group with a single large seta on the palpus. Additional characters are the costal bristles reaching well over half the distance between R4+5 and M and the clouded anterior margin of the wing. Of course, the sex combs are a telling feature, too".
