Native, cool season, perennial herb with very short stems. Leaves form a basal rosette; lamina are spathulate, narrowed to a broad, flat petiole, the whole 8–20 mm long and 4–6 mm wide. Flowerheads have up to 15 flowers and are 1-sided, rarely branched. Flowers are white or pink. Flowering is from spring to summer. Grows in wetlands and heath, especially widespread in coastal areas.
