DescriptionDalston Junction station c 1905 Postcard.jpg
English: slightly clipped by the scan. Wrapped in thought only on a very hot day.....message sent to Germany in 191x
I would have liked to say that this scene is only slightly altered today,but....
Kaetchen sent the card to Curt Salzbrenner [later spelling likely to be Kurt] on June 11 1906, well probably written and posted the day before, but cancelled at 00.15 AM and received in Chemnitz [later Karl-Marx-Stadt] in Saxony by 1 PM on June 12!
Curt was in the 8 Company of the 5th Infantry Regiment [Royal Saxon] no 104. "The Kronprinz"
The barracks was located in the Zschopauer Strasse in Chemnitz. A civic memorial to the fallen of the regiment is located in the town cemetery.
