Object history
Deutsch: Nachdem die Gemeinde schon im 19. Jahrhundert die Initiale К als Siegelzeichen verwendet hatte, schlug die Archivdirektion Stuttgart 1917 das jetzige Wappen vor. Es verbindet das Elefantenwappen der ursprünglichen Ortsherrschaft Helfenstein mit der Rose aus dem Stadtwappen von Geislingen an der Steige. Mit dieser Stadt teilte Kuchen viele Geschicke, so auch den Verkauf an die Reichsstadt Ulm und den Übergang an Württemberg, nach dem Kuchen dem Oberamt Geislingen zugeteilt worden war. In den Gemeindesiegeln ist das Wappen erst für die Zeit nach 1930 belegt. Die daraus abgeleitete Flagge hat das Innenministerium am 16. Februar 1959 verliehen.
