As of 9 March 2022, Fiji qualified for both the men's and women's tournaments. [11] The men achieved qualification through their positions in the 2018–19 / 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series, whereas the women achieved qualification via the 2019 Oceania Women's Sevens Championship (owing to the cancellation of an Oceania qualifier that was scheduled for April 2022). [12] [13]
Both squads were confirmed on 6 July 2022, including several members of the squad that won the Tokyo 2020 men's tournament. [14] [15] [16]
