Faisal Kapadia ( Urdu: فیصل کپاڈیا) is a Pakistani musician, composer, singer-songwriter, and a guitarist. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of rock music band Strings. After dissolution of Strings band, he started singing as solo artist. [1] Faisal Kapadia has directed a number of music videos for his band. Strings made its entry into the Bollywood music in 2006. [2]
He along with fellow Strings band member Bilal Maqsood has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Pakistan since September 2005. [3]
In 1988, he started Strings (band) with his other three class fellow Bilal Maqsood, Rafiq Wazir Ali and Kareem Bashir Bhoy) [4]
After dissolution of Strings band, [5] [6] [7] he started as solo singer. [8] [9] He started as solo singer from Coke Studio (Pakistani TV program). [10]
Kapadia is of Gujarati descent, his family hailing from Rajkot. He has cited Kishore Kumar and R. D. Burman as influences as well as those of U2, Bryan Adams, Sting and Bon Jovi. [11]
