The Seven Five is an upcoming American biographical crime drama film directed by Ben Stiller, based on the documentary of the same name.

Plot

Police officer Michael Dowd corrupts the New York Police 75th precinct, leading to one of the largest police corruption scandals in New York City history.

Development

On February 17, 2015, Yann Demange was in talks to direct with John Lesher and Megan Ellison producing the film, [1] and in March 2015, Demange signed on to direct with Scott Frank writing the script. [2] On January 25, 2018, Craig Gillespie was in talks to direct the movie with Eli Holzman producing with Lesher and Ellison. [3] On December 17, 2020, Ben Stiller was in talks to direct and produce the movie for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer with Tony McNamara writing the script instead of Frank. [4]

Casting

On December 17, 2020, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicholas Hoult were in talks to star as Dowd in the film. [4]
