Sunil Borkar is a director of photography and visual effects artist, from Vadji, a farming village in northeastern Maharashtra. His recent film, The Fable. [1] staring Manoj Bajpayee, Deepak Dobriyal and Priyanka Bose will compete in the Berlin International Film Festival 's [2] Encounters segment [3], It is only the second Indian film in the last 30 years to premiere in one of the key competitive sections of the Berlin International Film Festival. [4]. He [5] shot the film on super 16 mm [6] [7]. "Sunil Borkar’s cinematography is remarkable, and it is inspiring that the younger generation is considering shooting on a challenging medium as 16mm celluloid film" as per mid day. [8]
He lives in Mumbai and has been a part of many Hindi Feature films such as Netflix's " Sacred Games" and "Eternally Confused & Eager for Love," Amazon's " Afsos," Disney+`s " Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo," and Viacom18`s " Baazaar." [9]
Due to his interest in computer science, he studied animation and started working as an animator in Pune. Later he worked as VFX supervisor in many films.
