Needy Foundation ( Bengali: নীডি ফাউন্ডেশন) is a non-profit, charitable and voluntary social welfare organization to support the needy and vulnerable communities as well as respond to disasters and emergencies.
Needy Foundation is a registered charitable organization by Bangladesh Department of Social Services under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. [1] [2]
Needy Foundation constructs mosques and wudu places for the convenience of the worshipers to perform their regular Salah in various places of Bangladesh. [3] [4] [5] The foundation provides educational materials every year among orphans and needy students. [6] [7] They distribute emergency relief among helpless families affected by disasters such as floods and fires. [8] [9] The foundation also distributes Iftar and Suhur goods among needy fasting people, orphans and various orphanages during the holy month of Ramadan. [10] [11]
During the COVID-19 pandemic, emergency relief assistance was provided under the COVID-19 program of the Needy Foundation to the needy families who were deprived of the benefits of society. [1] Emergency relief assistance was provided to displaced Rohingya people in Myanmar. [12]
