Jonny Mydra is an American professional sports executive, currently serving as the President of the ECHL's Allen Americans. [1] [2]
Previously, Mydra worked seven seasons in the National Football League, most recently with the New York Jets. [3]
Mydra was born in Minnetonka, Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota before graduating with a Master's degree from Columbia University. [3]
Mydra began his career in 2014 as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders when the franchise was located in Oakland, California. Mydra worked in progressive roles with the Raiders and oversaw or operated in multiple facets of the team's business departments. [4]
After his time with the Raiders, Mydra worked for the New York Jets before taking a role as Vice President with the Allen Americans.
On April 19, 2021, Mydra was named President of the Americans, succeeding Mike Waddell. [1]
In his time with the Americans, Mydra has led the team to franchise records in sponsorship revenue and ticket sales, while securing a television deal with The CW ( KDAF). [5] [6] With a reach of over 2.5 million people, the deal is one of the largest in minor league sports. [7]
