George F. Haley (January 30, 1856 – February 19, 1918), of Biddeford, Maine, was a justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court from April 12, 1911 to February 19, 1918. [1]
Born in Saco, Maine, Haley read law to be admitted to the bar in 1881. He was appointed as an associate justice on April 12, 1911, serving until his death. [2] [3]
[E]ducated in the town's common schools until the age of twelve. He spent the next eleven years laboring in the local mills and factories, finding it necessary to leave school in order to help support his family. He spent two years studying law under the tutelage of Benjamin F. Hamilton of Biddeford. [4]
