Diana Ana Maria Ion (born 27 November 2000) is a Romanian triple jumper. She became Romanian national champion in 2023. [1]

Career

A member of CSM Oneşti, in July 2021 she finished sixth at the 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships in Tallinn with a jump of 13.27 metres. [2]

She was runner-up at the Romanian Athletics Indoor Championships in 2022 with a jump of 13.57 metres. [3] She then became Romanian triple jump champion in July 2023 in Craiova. [4]

She competed for Romania at the 2023 European Athletics Team Championships in Silesia in June 2023. [5] She was a bronze medalist at the 2023 Francophone Games in Kinsasha. [6] [7] She competed at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. [8]

At the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow in March 2024 and finished in ninth place with a leap of 13.73 metres. [9] [10]

In June 2024 she qualified for the final of the triple jump at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome and jumped a personal best 14.23 metres to finish in fifth place overall. [11]
