Chrononauts: Futureshock is a British time travel comic book limited series written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Eric Canete. Published by Image Comics, [3] the series is a sequel to Chrononaunts by Millar and Sean Murphy, set in the Millarworld. The series chronicles the continued adventures of NASA chrononauts (time-travellers) Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly, as they attempt to access the future. [4] The series, its individual issues simultaneously published on October 30, 2019, [5] inspired by the television release model of Millarworld parent company Netflix, [6] and collectively as a graphic novel on March 18, 2020, [7] was followed by Big Game in 2023, [8] and will be republished as an omnibus by Dark Horse Comics in 2024. [9]

Premise

Time-traveling physicists and world-famous NASA chrononauts Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly have conquered the past, but find themselves unable to even attempt to conquer the future. [10] After a failed test of their newest time machine—The Timehawk—the duo realise their actions are being hindered by their old Professor Cross and classmate Bronwyn Moir, the true inventors of time travel, who now immortal, have been ruling the past from the future for millennia. [11]

  • Corbin Quinn – A Nobel Prize-winning physicist and NASA chrononaut/co-inventor of time travel, who previously used time travel to fix his failed marriage after briefly conquering time.
  • Danny Reilly – Corbin's womanising best friend and NASA chrononaut/co-inventor of time travel.
Antagonists
  • Professor Cross – Corbin's and Danny's former professor, who secretly mastered time travel ten years before them and has conquered the future of Earth in the 23rd Century, shaping it into a utopia by violently changing history. [12]
  • Bronwyn Moir – Corbin's and Danny's former classmate and the Professor's second-in-command, now a gifted assassin who has been retroactively reshaping history to kill potential fascists as children.
  • Admiral Brax – The alien leader of a Kroq'ogh warship, who attempts to invade 23rd Century Earth.

  • Rachel Quinn – Corbin's loving wife, who is confident in his every ability.
  • Matilda Quinn – Corbin's and Rachel's daughter, born since the events of Chrononaunts (2015).

  • Sophie Jones – A ten-year-old child genius and budding fascist whose future policies threaten to annihilate mankind.
  • Assistant Amber – A personal assistant within Cross' utopia, whom Danny seduces on learning relationships have been banned in the future.
  • Charles Daniel "Charlie" Reilly – Danny's grandfather, who raised him following his mother's death and is now suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
  • Mrs. Reilly – Danny's unnamed grandmother, who raised him following his mother's death.
