For the purposes of this category, "Caribbean" is defined in accordance with the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions (WGSRPD); that is, it is defined as a region of South America, comprising Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, the Netherlands Antilles, Puerto Rico, the "Southwest Caribbean" (being the Caribbean Islands of Colombia, Honduras and Nicaragua), the Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, the Venezuelan Antilles and the Windward Islands.
