LDS Non-fiction is primarily non-fiction books which are written by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for an audience of church members about LDS themes.

Some of the more common elements in LDS Non-fiction include

  • Autobiographies
  • Individual conversion stories
  • Discussions and explanations about LDS theology and doctrine usually with an emphasis on applying LDS principles to one's life to include scripturual studies
  • Historicial research about church history
  • Biographies of church members and leaders

Many General authorities are also writers who, through their writings, attempt to persuade church members to abide by the teachings of the church.

The major characteristic of LDS Non-fiction is that it reinforces the LDS perspective.

Books, including scriptures and manuals, published by the church (or Intellectual Reserve) are best included in the Category:The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints texts and not in LDS Non-fiction.
