Homicides (the killing of one person by another, as determined by a coroner/medical examiner or juror) that have not resulted in convictions for murder that remain standing (an article belongs in this category if a murder conviction has been overturned on appeal and the suspect has not been retried or no verdict has been reached in a retrial).

These include cases where a suspect has not been identified or charged and may possibly still be alive, cases where a suspect or defendant died before they could be tried or charged, is awaiting or standing trial on the charge, was found not guilty by reason of insanity or self-defense, or was convicted of manslaughter or other lesser charges.
