This category includes detention centers, detention camps, jails, and prisons in the United States that primarily hold people who have violated immigration statutes, or who have lost their legal status due to a crime and are awaiting deportation. There are other jails and prisons that also hold immigration prisoners, but this category includes those which exclusively house people awaiting deportation or the adjudication of immigration hearings, or that have a separate wing or cellblock for immigration prisoners.
