The Houses of Anjou or Houses of Angevin or the Angevin dynasties are four historical and separate noble houses, whose powerbase originated in the French province of
Anjou .

Ingelger, Count of Anjou to
Geoffrey II, Count of Anjou . Geoffrey III, sororal nephew of Geoffrey II, inherited the title.

, the second Angevin dynasty that started from
Geoffrey III, Count of Anjou to
John of England , and, to mark the collapse of the
Angevin empire under John, is later referred to as the
Plantagenet dynasty (from
Henry II of England to
Richard III of England ). The male line descendants were split into two warring factions during the
Wars of the Roses :

Capetian House of Anjou
, the third Angevin dynasty that started from
Charles I of Naples which ruled parts of
France ,
Hungary ,
Croatia ,
Jerusalem ,
Italy and
Poland . The family previously had held Anjou (as
Robertians ) briefly (861–898) under
Robert the Strong and
Odo . It had three branches:
the
Valois House of Anjou
, the fourth Angevin dynasty that started from
Louis I of Naples which ruled parts of
France and
Italy .
