The Flora of Melanesia includes the native plants on the islands within region of Melanesia, a geographic subregion of Oceania, located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.

  • Melanesia is southwest of the adjacent Oceanian realm (and its subregions of Polynesia and Micronesia).
  • The biogeographic Oceanian realm and Australasian realm are both within geographic Oceania.

NOTE: The region of Melanesia is not a geographical unit employed in the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions. Its flora is divided between the following regions, which should be used instead where the information is available:
