Robert Francis Petrella (born November 7, 1944) is a former American football defensive back in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) who played for the Miami Dolphins. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. [1] He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 12th round of the 1966 NFL Draft. [2] In addition, he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the eighth round of the 1966 NFL Draft. [3] He was on Miami's roster for their inaugural season in 1966. [4] Petrella played in six seasons for the Dolphins, recording five interceptions. [5]
