Asherville is an unincorporated community in Mitchell County, Kansas, United States. [1] As of the 2020 census, the population of the community and nearby areas was 19. [2]

History

The first settlement at Asherville was made in 1866 at the Asher Creek, from which the community takes its name. [3] By 1910, Asherville had about 125 inhabitants. [4]

Asherville had the oldest post office in Mitchell County. [4] It opened in 1869, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1980. [5]
