Alessandro Russo (born 31 March 2001) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Serie C Group A club Trento, on loan from Sassuolo.
Russo is a youth product of Carmine Coppola, F24 Messina, and Genoa. [2] On 12 September 2019, Russo signed with Sassuolo. [3] Russo made his professional debut with Sassuolo in a 2-1 Coppa Italia loss to Perugia on 4 December 2019. [4]
On 29 August 2020, he went to Virtus Entella on loan. [5]
On 15 July 2021, he joined Alessandria on loan. [6] On 24 January 2022, he moved on a new loan to Sint-Truiden in Belgium. [7]
Russo spent the 2022–23 season back with Sassuolo as a back-up to Andrea Consigli. Russo made his Serie A debut in the last league game of the season on 2 June 2023 against Fiorentina. [8]
On 12 July 2023, Russo moved to Serie C club Trento on a season-long loan. [9]
On 12 October 2020, he tested positive for COVID-19. [10] He tested negative 18 days later. [11]
