Acocro District is one of fifteen districts of the province Huamanga in Peru. [1]
One of the highest mountains of the district is Yana Phiruru at approximately 4,200 m (13,800 ft). Other mountains are listed below: [2]
The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (95.51%) learnt to speak in childhood, 4.13% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language ( 2007 Peru Census). [3]
