American college football season
The 1985 Yale Bulldogs football team represented
Yale University in the
1985 NCAA Division I-AA football season . The Bulldogs were led by 21st-year head coach
Carmen Cozza , played their home games at the
Yale Bowl and finished in fifth place in the
Ivy League with a 3–3–1 record, 4–4–1 overall.

Yale did not play its annual in-state matchup against
the University of Connecticut , scheduled for September 28. Officials from Yale and the city of New Haven postponed the game, and then canceled it, as
Hurricane Gloria approached the Connecticut shore.
