American college football season
The 1973 Southern Jaguars football team represented
Southern University as a member of the
Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the
1973 NCAA Division II football season. Led by second-year head coach
Charles Bates, the Jaguars compiled an overall record of 6–4, with a conference record of 3–3, and finished fourth in the SWAC.
