The origins of this name is Greek. Comes from the greek word Georgos (Γεωργός) which means farmer. The word Γεωργος is a compound word, formed by the words Γη (earth, soil) and έργο (work). [1] -- Tdgs 21:06, 24 June 2007 (UTC) reply

Given the number of the people with the Italian variant "Giorgio", shouldn't there also be a page about people named Giorgio? Because frankly, I looked up Giorgio on Wikipedia½⅓¼⅜ and there are countless Giorgios, some of which are quite prominent.( Myscrnnm 21:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC)) reply
