This is the Mexican-Americans
task force, a collaboration area for Wikipedians interested in improving coverage of Mexican-Americans. New participants are welcome; please feel free to participate!
|
Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better organize information in articles related to Mexican-Americans and Chicanos. This page and its subpages contain their collaborative efforts and projects; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page. See the To Do List for current tasks that need attention. ¡Gracias!
This project encompasses all aspects of the experience of Mexican-Americans in the United States, such as culture, history, politics, and the arts. It covers the experience of the Hispano people, the descendents of the original Spanish and Novo-Spanish settlers of the Southwest, as well. Biographies of all people identified as either Mexican-American or Hispanic should always be included.
For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProjects and Wikipedia:WikiProject best practices.

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
Type:{{WikiProject United States|class=|importance=|MexAm=yes|MexAm-importance=}} on an article's talk page to create an infobox identifying this project. It will generate the following:

Type: {{userbox|black|white|[[Image:Chicano Power-small.png|48px]]|This user identifies as a '''[[Chicano]]'''.}}
to produce:

to produce:
This user identifies as a Chicana. |
