I've always used Wikipedia a lot, and decided I would try to contribute. I volunteer a half day a week at a library, helping people to find things, and I thought I could work on Wikipedia while I'm here. Sometimes it's very slow, and I have lots of free time to do research. Sometimes it's busy, but if there's a three minute break, I make a small fix quickly. I'm finding it's not so important to be at a library because so much is online now. Thank you for welcoming me and sharing helpful tools! I'm enjoying this experience already.

This Wiki language is really complicated even for an average person! Why do people even use this sort of editing while there are many more advanced ways to edit text are available? I guess the culture is the answer. Sorry, IT gents, no intent to learn another language or read through hundreds of of policies and procedures. You have to have fun by yourself! Tried to add information to WP that I deemed to be valuable, but got everything removed in a pretty hostile way. Any ideas why the number of new contributors to WP is declining since 2007?No ideas what this strange language means. Why user interface cannot be intuitive?
