WikiProject Cleanup is a resource for Wikipedia cleanup information, to post cleanup requests, and discussion. This project covers cleanup issues including
page layout,
wikification,
spelling, grammar and typographical errors,
tone and source formatting. All users are welcome to help edit or fix any page on these lists.
This project does not accept requests to perform work regarding editing to address conflicts of interest, and does not accept requests for additional sources or citations to be added to articles. The project does accept requests to perform source formatting and cleanup of existing sources.
Please post article cleanup requests below this message, and sign your posts. Editors will clean up your submitted articles and may fix other issues associated with the article.
Please remove the appropriate tag(s) from the article after cleaning it, and then strike-through the entry on this page using <s> </s>, which produces: this; however, do not strike the user signature and timestamp. Please consider also documenting improvements on the article's talk page or in edit summaries for the benefit of other editors.
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings - cast listing should be formatted better. Many of these credits can be removed and the ellipsis aren't very necessary as opposed to an "as".

Partly done. I do not have the time to decide which of the credits can be removed. Hopefully I can get this done by tomorrow.

Morgan Berry - tables are still a mess; dates and italics need to be implemented for better organization.
Lacon432 (

Ruby Dee and
Ossie Davis - there should be a table for her television credits and stage credits. For Ossie, a table for his credits should be done.

William Herle (spy) article appears to have properly sourced information but is ungrammatical and has extensive sentence structure issues and misspellings.

Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy - An anonymous user recently requested that this article be moved to the organization's new name: One Health Trust. I think that is a necessary move, but it would also require re-writing most of the article to indicate that its previous achievements were under its previous name, in an "artist formerly known as..." sort of way. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (

We can move it to a new title page, and then put up a template stating that parts of the article may use the name "CDDEP" and/or other sub derivatives until a proper cleanup is done. We can also ask fellow editors to contribute to the cleanup, if possible.

It is also worth noting that the cleanup can happen in Phases, and not necessarily in one go.
Nowadays we can use the Find feature in most browsers to find and replace text where necessary.

British Overseas Territories citizen - A lot of content has been introduced into the article which is not
WP:POV. A lot of sections may not be relevant to BOTCs, or even off-topic. I propose the moderators remove non-POV passages, then check the passages in boxes, until the community have had a chance to discuss them. They look like they’ve been copied across from other British and Irish nationality articles. (
Kreb (
talk) 07:06, 8 May 2023 (UTC))Replyreply
Just to add to my earlier comment, it’s worth remembering that most
British Overseas Territories are located in the Caribbean islands, and are much smaller than other former
British colonies, which is why they haven’t become independent yet. There’s not much commonality between them and other colonies e.g. in Africa. So any passages relating to Ireland/Kenya/Uganda/India are simply not relevant. The
Commonwealth Immigrants Act 1962 is only loosely relevant: whilst it did lay down conditions on people from the territories entering the UK, it was not specifically aimed at them. (

Announcement: All the articles tagged for cleanup in April 2010 have been resolved, yay! Based on how quickly folks took care of those (many just needed the tag removed), I think we could probably accelerate resolution of end-of-queue articles from the current speed (about one month per year) to one month per month, which would mean the backlog wait time would stop growing. In that spirit, here are all the remaining articles that were tagged in May 2010:
Davie504 - I tried transcribing his name on IPA based on
this YouTube video of his as source. I only used IPA characters present in
Help:IPA/Italian. I would like the accuracy of my transcription to be verified or improved. Thank you.

Identity and language learning - written like an essay, with no lead section and an oversized "further reading" section, among several other major issues in this article.

Comment:Merpin, those are "general references" per

Done - The community has worked on the article since the request, and the request itself indicated an issue that did not necessarily require cleanup. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (

Tatar confederation - same statements (e.g. "From the 10th to 13th centuries, Shatuo Turks joined Tatar confederation and became known as White Tatars branch of the Tatars.") repeated in multiple sections (e.g. in both "Name and origin" and "History") even though the article is relatively short.

Greece–Turkey relations -- Recent GA quick fail indicates several issues: sources have CS1 and CS1 maintenance errors, numerous missed punctuation marks, while the prose is exceedingly informal and essay-like. Does not comply with the guidelines of lead sections and words to watch.

Conscription in Mexico - This article was created in 2006, and at no point has the article contained references or sources. This article has existed for 16 years without having a single sourced claim. It also has confusing prose, using jargon "framing" that may be an attempt to directly translate Spanish words/phrases to English. This article needs to be sourced or nominated for deletion.

List of years in television - All of the information found here can easily be accessed at the separate pages for certain years and nationalities (e.g.
2006 in American television). It seems better to just remove all the information from the sections and replace them with links to the Year pages. In fact, a majority of the main page consists of series debuts.

Reminisce (rapper) - Nigerian rapper. Promotional tone issues and sections that read as advertisements for his albums, such as one of his albums being called "arguably as one of the most successful hip hop albums in Nigerian history", without quoting a source.
