I do not want to start an edit war on this page. Discussions on these military events should take place on the respective pages, not on this list. I share your POV, but I have been in edit wars with American apologists since October 2005, and have been working on this page almost as long.
Please see: Talk:List of United States foreign interventions since 1945 which I merged into List of United States military history events. The perspectives on these conflicts should be left to their respective talk pages, not discussed on this list. If we add long descriptions of each conflict, the list ceases to become a list. The nature of a list is very brief explanations.

Hey, I just came behind you and edited your references on two pages, wikifying them using ref tags. I am really happy that you are adding so many references. I do not want to discourage all of your fabulous efforts.
In the future, although it is not necessary (but it saves me time), if you could get in the habit of using ref tags, that would be great. Please see: User:Travb for the common ref tags I use.
I need to convert several of the old references that people added on both the CIA and List of United States military history events to the new ref tag format.
On the huge CIA page, I rewrite the article in sections, adding the tags when I rewrite the sections with references.
I wrote / completely rewrote:
- CIA#Highly-illegal_activities
- CIA#Torture (except the Iraq section) and
- CIA#UFOs_and_Robertson_Panel yesterday.

There is no need for the "last visited" info. I consider that a waste of wikipedia space. Some wikipedia nerd a long time ago probably thought that served a useful purpose. But hardly anyone who adds a lot of references uses it. Like me. It serves no purpose most of the time.
Combine the URL and title to make a clickable link. Like this:

To the best of my knowledge, Kenneth Timmerman does not say that Zbigniev Brzezinski met with Saddam Hussein one-to-one. He merely notes that Brzezinski, together with unnamed officials, met with King Hussein on the very same day that Saddam was due to meet with him. I have his book right in front of me. Please read the section U.S. foreknowledge and reaction to the conflict and examine the footnotes carefully. I included a lot of information on that page. Christopher Hitchens also says Brzezinski gave Saddam a "green light". When challenged to provide a reference for this assertion, he said that a Brzezinski aide had confirmed the story to him personally. Alright, I'm tired of the back and forth on the talkpage, but I think prioritizing and responsible deletion might help the United States and terrorism page. Certain events (Guatemala, Nicaragua) are more well-documented and appropriate because there is a larger body of ppl who consider actions there facilitating/participating in terrorism. However, others, like Syria, Turkey, and Iraq seem to be pushing it more. I suggest re-evaluation and prioritizing, rather than mass deletion. Soxwon ( talk) 00:42, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

- Yes, it needs a lot of work, but there is plenty of high-quality scholarship on the subject, and I think it could eventually turn out very well. Unfortunately, there is a handful of editors who are endlessly arguing on the talk page, and contributing nothing, but several of them have dropped out. Hopefully the others will tire themselves out and leave soon as well. I've not been working on it much lately -- I've been focusing on other articles, and didn't have the time or energy to battle with the debate team. On Saturday April 30, 2016, in conjunction with a global campaign, the Guggenheim will host its fourth Wikipedia edit-a-thon — or, #guggathon — to enhance Wikipedia's coverage of modern and contemporary artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia. The Guggenheim aims to further the goals of the Guggenheim UBS MAP Global Art Initiative, and build on the model of campaigns like the Wikipedia Edit-a-thon at the Guggenheim: Women in Architecture, Wikipedia Asian Month, and Art+Feminism. New and experienced editors are welcome. The event will include a training session for participants who are new to Wikipedia and Wikipedia specialists will be on hand to provide basic instruction and editing support.   Join us for a full Sunday of social Wikipedia editing at the Center for Jewish History (drop-in any time!), during which we will create, update, and improve Wikipedia articles pertaining to Women in Jewish History. All are invited, with no specialized knowledge of the subject or Wikipedia editing experience required. Expanding coverage of Jewish women on Wikipedia makes these women and their creations discoverable, addresses the gender bias on Wikipedia in a positive way, and works to correct imbalances archival collecting practice and institutional projects that have historically silenced women's narratives. A training session on editing Wikipedia will be held at 12:30 pm. Experienced Wikipedians will be on-hand to assist throughout the day. The WikiArte (Wiki Arte y Cultura Latinoamerica) edit-a-thon is a global campaign to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Latin American arts and culture and to counter geocultural systemic bias on Wikipedia. Featuring an opening Artists' Panel at 10am, with Sol Aramendi, Sharon Lee De La Cruz, and Marisa Morán Jahn, to be moderated by Rocío Aranda-Alvarado, curator at El Museo del Barrio. The Museum of Modern Art and Fundacion Cisneros/Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros are uniting with international allies to focus on the lives and works of Latin American artists, architects and designers. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Cullman Education and Research Building at the Museum of Modern Art, 4 West 54th Street, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an all-day communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism. There will be childcare, snacks, multiple trainings and panel discussions. People of all gender identities and expressions welcomed and encouraged to attend. This year’s edit-a-thon kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with a conversation about information activism with writer Joanne McNeil and Data & Society Research Institute Fellow Zara Rahman, moderated by Kimberly Drew, the social media manager for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, creator of the Tumblr “Black Contemporary Art,” and the person behind @museummammy on Instagram.  The Metropolitan Museum of Art Edit-a-thon: Met Open Access Initiative is the Metropolitan Museum of Art's first edit-a-thon, being hosted on Sunday May 21, 2017 in Thomas J. Watson Library at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York City. The Met is excited to make available over 375,000 images of public domain artworks for contribution to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons from the museum’s collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse collection onsite and remotely. The event is a key marker too of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's first Wikimedian-in-Residence program, with resident Richard Knipel ( User:Pharos), along with Wikimedia NYC. This is an opportunity for all to gather, share and work collectively towards a more robust account of history. For this month, we'll focus on Wikipedia casual editing, ways to use and develop Wikidata, building better edit-a-thon tools for a variety of different thematic campaigns, and user-testing them with the community.  The Wikipedia Asian Month Edit-a-thon @ The Met will be the Metropolitan Museum of Art's second edit-a-thon, hosted on Sunday November 19, 2017 in the Bonnie Sacerdote Classroom, Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education (81st Street entrance) at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York City. Following the first Met edit-a-thon in May 2017, the museum is excited to work with Wikipedia Asian Month for the potential to seed new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art traditions, from any part of Asia. These can be illustrated with thousands of its recently-released images of public domain artworks available for Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons from the museum’s collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse Asian collections onsite and remotely.
Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords. Light snacks, drinks and cake will be provided. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Themes for this event include public health and the history of New York City. New York City has a large immigrant population and great diversity of speakers of various languages. reflist-talk}} template at two places in your Talk page to catch those pesky "references" (created with the <ref>...</ref> tags) that kept showing up at the bottom of the page. "<ref>" tags can be troublesome — and if you look at this text in edit mode you'll see that I actually type "<ref>". By the way, that top-most comment GPRamirez5 added in 2018 is misplaced, and you should not feel shy about moving it, or even deleting it. Also, you might consider archiving most of what you have collected here. Ask if you need help.
Regarding your recent edit at
Talk:Global warming: yes, deleting it was wise. You may have noticed that some of the prior text on that page seemed to have disappeared. That was another <ref> problem. Not entirely your fault, but it does show why we need to be careful about not introducing straight "<ref>" into the text. More particularly, when we discuss edits we generally do not copy the actual text into the talk page, we use a "diff" to link to the edit. E.g., for your edit you could use "{{
diff2|916780735|my edit}}" (replacing "my edit" with what ever is suitable). Note also that new discussions are generally started by hitting the "New section" tab at the top of the page.
By all means ask on the Talk page if you have a question about your edit being reverted. (Just don't bring in the actual text!) But please note that just because something is related to a topic is not sufficient basis for inclusion. In this case I would say that the responses to global warming, across many aspects, are not part of global warming itself, and therefore should be, if sufficiently notable, handled in their own articles. ♦ J. I'm not sure deleting your own text five times at Talk:Global warming was "wise", per J. Johnson above. Please use edit summaries to show why you're doing all the additions/removals of your own text, because I find it quite difficult to understand. This diff which combines eight of your back and forth edits into one, shows that the result of them all is No difference. And a little later, you did this, also giving no difference. The Wikipedia Asian Month Edit-a-thon @ The Met will be hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Saturday November 16, 2019 in the Bonnie Sacerdote Classroom, Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education (81st Street entrance) at The Met Fifth Avenue in New York City. The museum is excited to work with Wikipedia Asian Month for the potential to seed new articles about Asian artworks, artwork types, and art traditions, from any part of Asia. These can be illustrated with thousands of its recently-released images of public domain artworks available for Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons from the museum’s collection spanning 5,000 years of art. The event is an opportunity for Wikimedia communities to engage The Met's diverse Asian collections onsite and remotely. Asia Art Archive will host a sister event in Hong Kong next week.

Edit-warring on Protectionism
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.. Hi Josh,
My name is Sophie and I am very new to being a Wikipedia user - editing and writing articles. I am contacting you because I saw that you had made changes to the plastic pollution Wikipedia page. I was hoping I could get your help to create a new page for the company I work for, we are developing technology for biodegradable plastic solutions (not oxo-degradation). As I am currently working at Polymateria, I am unable to create the company Wikipedia page and was hoping you could help me.
If you are happy to help me I can send you the text that I would like to have on the page, external sources included.
Again, as said I am very new to this side of Wikipedia so please do let me know if there is another way I should be trying to make these changes.

We will begin the event with the debut of a new video celebrating our community. This will be followed by a panel discussion with some of the people you'll see in the video talking about Wikipedia's 20th anniversary, Wikimedia New York City, and the amazing work they do on Wikimedia projects. The event will be broadcast live via YouTube. Feel free to ask questions for the panel through the chat! We will also have some NYC wiki trivia you can participate in, with confectionery prizes.

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
