Los Hooligans Productions
The company was founded in 1991 as Los Hooligans Productions, taking its name from Rodriguez's own
comic strip, Los Hooligans, which he wrote and illustrated for three years while attending the
University of Texas at Austin. Rodriguez chose the name so fans of the strip would recognize it when they saw his films. The company was reincorporated as Troublemaker Studios in 2000.
