Technical mistakes

Guys, if you look at that navigation table ({{ Ukraine topics}}), you can find some disappointing misplacements. Row 5, Col. 1 reads "Police forces" but links to Military of Ukraine :))). Col. 2 of the same row includes links to:

  • "Chief directorate of intelligence of the Ministry of Defence"
  • "Foreign Intelligence Service"
  • "Ukrainian Army"
  • "Ukrainian Air Force"
  • "Ukrainian Navy"
  • "Sea Guard",

none of which are "police forces" :) So keeping this table, visible for hundreds of users, is shameful don't you think so?

Any chance anyone has it fixed? AlexPU 13:18, 26 March 2007 (UTC) reply

Well, I linked "Police forces" to Military of Ukraine because I could not find a suitable article at the time... True, they are not poliece forces, but I think we should just create an article like Defense of Ukraine and link to all the relevant articles (which you listed above). Would that be better? — dima /s-ko/ 16:02, 26 March 2007 (UTC) reply

Not really. Let me answer step by step:

  • I believe these two groups of topics just can't be stacked together. Some "Defence of Ukraine" would be a wide-spread mistake and excessive article/category. The commonly-accepted generalizations are: "Law enforcement (and state security) of..." and "Military of". (BTW we already got these two categories for Ukraine.) Only this way I think. So, if you OK to draw two new rows instead of one, I can advise you what from where.
  • Not all those military and sylovyky links are needed at the table. Some are miserable stubs for now :(. I suggest only: Military of Ukraine, Navy, Air Force, Border Guard, MVS and SBU. The latter two are "law enforcement", others "Military". Or, simplier, can you just link only two categories, no articles?
  • Anyway, tell me how much rows of which approximate height can you have for my question, what would you like to stuff in them, and I'll consult you what belongs where. AlexPU 16:06, 27 March 2007 (UTC) reply
Yes, perhaps it would be better to have two separate groups of: "Law enforcement (and state security) of..." and "Military of".. I agree to having only the six links which you stated above.. But I don't like the idea of linking to two categories because the links lead to major and important topics of Ukraine.. — dima /s-ko/ 20:28, 28 March 2007 (UTC) reply

OK. And how about hiding those two categories under "..."? So, would you draw this in? AlexPU 06:14, 6 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Alright, I added the military in (only now realized that this discussion took place months ago =/), and I'm not sure what to do with "Law Enforcement". What I left out was: MVS, SBU, Berkut, Border guard, Sea guard, Internal Troops of Ukraine and the National Space Agency. Any ideas? -- Bogdan що? 16:40, 14 November 2007 (UTC) reply

No need (see similar templates for other countries).
