What's going on with the disappearing Jody Linscott entry in the associated musicians section? Linscott played two to three full tours with The Who (depending on how you count it), plus some one-off gigs. Also, shouldn't the Kick Horn musicians be listed here? They've played a couple of full tours plus one-off gigs with The Who, as well. Steve Bolton? Billy Nicholls?
Damon Minchella and Steve White only played one gig with The Who and they're listed here. Rather than sample performers that have played only once, it seems we should list musicians who have played with The Who for a least most of a tour. Comments? Pkeets ( talk) 00:56, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
- These musicians are the only musicians who performed with The Who as one of the main musicians in the band ie: Drums (Sandom, Townson, Halpin, Phillips, White), Keyboards (Gorman, Carin, Kehew) and Bass (Minchella). Other musicians such as Jody Linscott (percussionist) and essentially all of the "extras" on the 1989 tour (horns, backup singers) are auxillary musicians. If Steve Bolton had an article about him his inculsion would be warranted, as he player lead guitar, one of the defining instruments in the band.

- Gilmour and Whitehorn only performed with The Who when the performances were designated the Who and special guests (I think - correct me if I'm wrong). Did Button ever play bass for The Who? I know for a fact (I went to a concert) that he played for Roger Daltrey's band

Did some research and found out (some of) the names of the session drummers between Sandom and Moon. All I could find were Mitch Mitchell and Dave Golding. There could have been more. Also, I found out that there was a drummer named Julian Covey who filled in for Moon for only one gig before Chris Townson helped out in 1967. I created articles for Golding and Covey (whose real name is Phil Kinorra). About Bob Pridden - is there a single word that could be used to describe managers, producers and engineers? There have been some people who have been changing the layout of the members section, where they put the classic lineup first, then clump the rest of the members below. However, I want to make this clear: The band is still together, and John and Keith are not there, and therefore need to be below those who are currently playing in the band. - The head section has been corrected to the proper hierarchy of listing...(in the format that it had been in for a long time until tampering earlier this year) This band consists of 2 "members". Sidesmen are simply contracted workers who are significant to the band's live appearance... but are not members and have no "ownership" of anything to do with the band, as a "business." - Do you mind pointing it out to me? I just went through the archives of this talk page, and the only discussion I found was between a small handful of people (myself included), and was unanimously in favour of the previous layout.
- All I see is that
it was first changed around a year ago by an anon without any discussion (or even an edit summary), followed three months later by
User:DaltreyEntwistleMoonTownshend saying "it has been discussed many times". Where, exactly? Did I miss something out of that archive page? -

- \Alright, so new Quadrophenia tour announced and all that (for which I am super excited). Anyway....... http://thewho.com/story/tickets-on-sale-beginning-friday-july-20-general-public-on-sale-july-27/ <<----This article says that Chris Stainton (who played many of the piano parts on the original studio album) is going to be joining the touring roster (replaced Rabbit, IDK what happened to him), along with Loren Gold and Frank Simes, members of Roger's touring band. So, I dropped Rabbit to the associated musicians spot, seeing as he no longer is touring with the band, and was never an official member. (No explanation was given for him not appearing on this upcoming tour.) I added the "touring members" tag that I see other band templates use in order to reduce confusion. - I don't know about that. For The Beatles template, the agreement was that family members would only be on each individual's respective templates. However, Keith Moon doesn't have a template, and probably never will, so his family members should probably be included in this template.
