I don't think either template needs to be changed. Possibly remove one from some pages. I think the more comprehensive one is more useful.-- TonyTheTiger ( t/ c/ bio/ WP:CHICAGO/ WP:LOTM) 00:48, 11 July 2008 (UTC) reply

I agree that the IL Statewide officials template is more comprehensive, and would like to see it kept. Its just the overlap between the boxes that I find troubling. They seem to give the same information; the only difference is that one is exclusive to executives and statewide officers and one includes legislative leaders. Which is why the Government in Illinois template should simply be redirected. thanks Astuishin ( talk) 05:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC) reply

Supreme Court

Supreme Court justices are elected by district not state-wide. Should they really be included on this list? thanks Astuishin ( talk) 08:05, 11 December 2008 (UTC) reply

Leaders of the legislative and judicial branches are elected by districts not statewide so either we so change the title of the box or remove the aforementioned leaders. Astuishin ( talk) 05:58, 4 January 2009 (UTC) reply

Thomas Kilbride is no longer the Chief Justice. Rita Garman is. The box should be updated to reflect this. Micbbagg ( talk) 17:17, 10 March 2014 (UTC) reply

Please place noinclude tags around the below= parameter (similar to what I've just done to the rest of the templates in the category), so that part doesn't get transcluded. There's no reason articles trancluding this template – i.e. Illinois officeholders – should link to other states' templates. That part is only meant for cross-navigation between the templates. 46.194.46.249 ( talk) 11:13, 21 August 2015 (UTC) reply

About US Representatives from Illinois...

So, how come the list of United States Representatives from Illinois isn't included in the template? 76.235.248.47 ( talk) 13:19, 5 January 2016 (UTC) reply

In the statewide elected officials box, you need to change Supreme Court Justice Charles Freeman to P. Scott Neville, Jr., who took his place on 6/15/18. [1] Micbb ( talk) 12:41, 16 June 2018 (UTC) reply
