Polio caused quite a scare in mid-20th century United States, but that is not here. Dogru144 ( talk) 00:31, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
Would it be possible to create a parameter |short=
that would allow for a condensed version of this infobox listing only global pandemics? Example code could be found at {{
COVID-19 pandemic}}. I ask since, while this navbox is doing okay at
COVID-19 pandemic currently, if we run up against the technical limit again, it'll be the first thing that'll need to go unless we have a shorter version available. Courtesy pinging main contributors @

COVID-19 is down as (2019-2020), but other ongoing outbreaks such as MERS and New Zealand measles are given their start date then to present (eg "New Zealand measles (2019–present)") - should COVID-19 not be likewise given it is very definitely an ongoing pandemic? Variant of Concern 202012/01 is a minor regional variant of COVID-19, and does not need a mention in this navbox unless it gains further significance. There are plenty of other variants of SARS-CoV-2. I don't see the point in highlighting a certain one, unless this variant gains significance outside of "the virus is mutating". Please discuss here before readding it to the navbox. Thanks. JackFromReedsburg ( talk | contribs) 11:30, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
I have added the Atlantic Plague. This is less documented in other countries, but was really active in Iberia and some Atlantic ports. - Theklan ( talk) 12:15, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
