Title

I don't think the term Afro-American religions should be used - too much confusion with African-American religious sects - like Baptists and African Methodist Episcopal.

Should probably be titled African Diasporic religions.

Significant Edits Necessary

I noticed that the template was significantly expanded on to include deities and other traditions. While useful to the novice or curious person wanting to know more about african diasporic denominations, it is arranged in such a matter that is not very useful in distinguishing between the Akan, Vodun, Yoruba, Kongo, and any other traditions. While they all have similarities, they are all different and that needs to be acknowledged. I will try to format it in this matter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bwjsmartdude ( talkcontribs) 17:03, 25 October 2008 (UTC) reply

While technically the masturbating trickster god statue is an aspect of an african religion, so is the Chiwara mask, and is less likely to cause people to wonder why masturbation is a significant part of afro-american religions. So, I've changed the image to the Chiwara mask. - kotra ( talk) 20:24, 1 May 2009 (UTC) reply
