Proposed merge with Ichiko memorial award

The award is probably not notable enough to have its own page and should be merged to its granting institution, which has plenty of room to accommodate. Also no citations, which makes me worry about WP:BOOSTER. Classicwiki ( talk) (ping me please, I don't watch pages) 07:02, 17 July 2017 (UTC) reply

@ Classicwiki Agreed. It is not particularly notable and the automated translation is awful. Malayy ( talk) 4:09 pm, Today (UTC−6)

Weird archiving method

@ Malayy: Please don't archive in strange ways like you did here. You skipped whole sections, which is not how you archive things. Thanks. ··· 日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 23:18, 25 July 2017 (UTC) reply

@ Nihonjoe: Admittedly, this is my first time archiving a talk page but I was following the directions at Help:Archiving a talk page. How was my method "weird"? Why did you archive everything? I specifically copy and pasted the parts I wanted to archive. Malayy ( talk) 23:23, 25 July 2017 (UTC) reply
@ Malayy: Archiving is not by picking and choosing the sections you want to archive. It should be done as a block so people don't get confused and wonder where sections went and why a section was not archived when one with a similar timestamp was archived. You should not leave out sections in the middle of what you're archiving unless there is active discussion on them (and there was none on the ones you left out). ··· 日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 23:30, 25 July 2017 (UTC) reply
@ Nihonjoe: Thanks for informing me on that! Someone should definitely change the wording on the help page then. "[Copy] material you wish to archive" sounds like you can pick and choose. Thanks Malayy ( talk) 23:35, 25 July 2017 (UTC) reply
@ Malayy: No problem. You're welcome to start a discussion at Help talk:Archiving a talk page if you want to change the wording on that page. ··· 日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 23:37, 25 July 2017 (UTC) reply

Orphaned references in University of Tokyo

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of University of Tokyo's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "r.nikkei":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 05:50, 3 March 2021 (UTC) reply

"The" in the university's name

Hi, rather like the Wikipedia article on the University of Oxford, in the case of the University of Tokyo, "The" isn't actually part of the name, I believe. For this reason, I suggest that the bold font should be changed in the first sentence of this article

The University of Tokyo

and not
