There's a huge number of YouTubers who've protested against UMG demonetizing their videos or issuing a series of copyright strikes even if only a few seconds snippet in a long video. A lot have stated how ridiculous and greedy the company are with their team of 60 odd patrolling YouTube content. I think the article ought to have a mention of it.†

Is it too soon to include the Netherlands/Dutch company name in the article?

Before the official listing, I think so but this issue is moot now since UMG is already listed. I have changed the legal form to N.V. (naamloze vennootschap/public company). B.V. is besloten vennootschap or closed/limited company.--Vulp❯❯❯here! 11:00, 23 September 2021 (UTC)reply
two years later. anyone else would offer some knowledge about this? i am fairly certain that "Universal Music Group B.V." is the name of the branch operating in the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the article details about the worldwide operating company (ie. Universal Music Group). As a matter of fact, the article points that the operating headquarters are located in Santa Monica, USA. To my knowledge, the name on the building reads as "Universal Music Group" and doesn't have the Netherlands branding on it, To put a finer point on the matter, the CEO of the worldwide company has an office in the Santa Monica building and he originally resided in the UK. It also states on the wiki page of the CEO. "The chairman and chief executive officer of Universal Music Group". He is not based out of the Netherlands branch office. I also have forwarded e-mails sent by the music company with the US address on the footer with the name of "Universal Music Group".

Hello I’ve been contemplating for a bit on if
Bungalo Records is truly a label distributed by
Universal Music Group. Although, Bungalo’s website mentions it but I can’t find any sort of information regarding Universal acknowledging the label at all. I’m not sure if it’s common for labels to claim to be owned or related to large distributors such as Universal in order to persuade artists to sign with them? Which is what I’m assuming may be the case. I did do some research on some of the artists they’ve signed — past and present. After looking at some of the CD’s they do list Bungalo and UMG on them… but I still find this to be odd. Hopefully maybe someone will have some info?

Dutch-American?
It's majority owned by Chinese and French investors, its US operational HQ is in California but its global HQ is in Holland.
