TV debut?

I'm just quickly going through the article putting in missing cites. I see the article says "made their television debut on a Los Angeles TV show, Boss City, circa 1966, possibly early 1967", so I look for that ("TV debut The Doors Boss City"), and find a reference to the band playing at Boss City and put it in ( [1]). But then I notice my mistake - this is for the debut of "Light My Fire" not "Break On Through". So I look for their TV debut. This book says it was Shebang on March 6th: [2]; this book says it was Shebang on New Years Day: [3]. Anyone know the truth? Hello there! I started a discussion on the page Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Music on 7 July, and it hasn't received any responses. This RfC concerns the use of the word "The" in band names in parentheses in the titles of articles about songs and albums. Further elaboration can be found on that discussion page. Yeah this disruptive BS has been going on for too long and I'm pretty sure this is all the same person. That is a lot of articles to protect, is that an option? The last ANI didn't seem to yield overly positive results. What about a range block? Rob van vee 15:49, 23 November 2019 (UTC) reply

Can anyone say whether the IPs listed above as 'new IPs' should be blocked? The last one is busy adding reference links to https://mildequator.com which says it is a non-profit information site for the Doors, as well as a store. This web site might just barely be considered reliable, especially for things like long-ago tour dates, which are not of extreme importance. The IPs listed as 'old' seem to be inactive. Most of the IPs listed in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Danieleb82 are from Sweden, but most of the activity on The Doors is from Greece. Is it possible that there could be two different people here? EdJohnston ( talk) 18:59, 23 November 2019 (UTC) reply
I haven't been involved in the SPI, but the edits are very similar to those on Led Zeppelin articles in September: restoring redirects and/or problematic material multiple times without addressing the notability problems or proper references. 77.218.252.86 ( talk · contribs) was blocked along with several other IPs. — Ojorojo ( talk) 20:05, 23 November 2019 (UTC) reply

Wow. OK. Back again. I mistakenly put this at ANI, not realizing it had been archived. Sorry for any confusion. Regarding protection, socks and IPs, see the Poofdragon sockdrawer, which chronically disrupted Jim Morrison, Pamela Courson and Patricia Kennealy-Morrison. The histories on those articles, most recently Pam Courson, show that we regularly get new SPAs returning to repeat the same pattern of disruptive edits (also addition of unsourced content, and sometimes defamatory material / BLP vios). Recently the likely socks have been reverted and stopped right before being blocked. But it's chronic. If general protection is done, I'd add those articles. I would personally support semi-ing the lot of them. These are obsessed stans who have harassed admins via email before, admitted to co-ordinating the disruption off-wiki, and they are not going to stop. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 21:58, 23 November 2019 (UTC) reply

  • Ojorojo, maybe you can make a sub-page here, like Talk:The Doors/Doors vandal or something like that, and give a clean overview of IPs and ranges. Selecting the articles to protect

That seems to be over 1,000 articles which is too many. How about up to 100? Pick the ones most associated with The Doors. EdJohnston ( talk) 02:11, 24 November 2019 (UTC) reply

I've done indefinite semiprotection of the four redirects under the 'How about:' heading with the edit summary "Article recreated by IP-hopping warrior. I would consider that. If you have the patience, you could go through the above list of articles (those not yet protected) and find any edited by an IP from Greece since 1 November. Those are the ones that should get more scrutiny. (I don't care about IP edits unless they are very fresh, since he never seems to re-use old IPs). I have semied Love Me Two Times and Touch Me (The Doors song). To find out where an IP is located, open their contributions page and click on 'geolocate' near the bottom of the page. For example, try this on Special:Contributions/109.242.153.61. It tells you that the IP is based in Athens. This helps us to separate regular IPs from those we believe to be operated by the Doors vandal. At present the bad behavior is not coming from Sweden. Hello, I wanted to put a picture in The Doors article. I was at the Last Dallas concert in Dec. 1970. I got back stage and got pictures of them.
