This article is seriously flawed. There aren't any dates or even years for significant events, i.e. the band's formation, recordings, tours, Holly's death, etc. --

The article says, "It should be worth noting that they almost chose the name: The Beatles, which John Lennon later named his band in homage to Holly and the Crickets." This seems wrong in so many ways. It makes assumptions:

It says, "The Beetles.````
Is the citation needed to prove they were from Texas, or that Texas is in the United States? Either seems a little picky. -- Ampwright 18:58, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
They weren't portrayed as racists in "The Buddy Holly Story"! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.33.149.205 ( talk) 14:37, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
shouldn't Buddy be added to the list of "former members" in the info-box? if it seems redundant to list him as both an "associated act" and a "former member", i'd vote to for listing him as a former member and skipping the "associated act" field. Sssoul ( talk) 07:50, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
update: okay, since there are no objections i'm going ahead with that change. Sssoul ( talk) 10:14, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Buddy Holly and The Crickets split when Buddy movied to New York. While there, he assembled a new backing band (sometimes also refered to as 'The Crickets'), while the rest of The Crickets stayed back in Texas. The new additions were Carl Bunch on drums and Waylon Jennings on bass. The question is, are they considered a part of The Crickets, even though they were never part of the main group?
Note: Tommy Allsup, Buddy's new guitarist, had played on The Cricket's records before becoming Buddy's touring guitarist, and even played on post-Holly Crickets material. It's safe to say he was a full-fledged member of the band. - Disco dude rock ( talk) 05:29, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Hey man, me no know nowt about these crickets, but i think the layout is crappy quite bad. it's a real mess 'cuz there is only 3 sections : main (everything together), disco & refs.
I suggest to anyone with any interest in this article have a look at the layout and try to do something about it.
Just an opinion - Benzband ( talk) 13:58, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
How should the Crickets' work with Buddy Holly as a solo act be listed? For his album and early singles, it's the exact same band, but specifically under Holly's name. Should it be with the main discography, or separated, possibly linking to Holly's discography? - Disco dude rock ( talk) 03:36, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
One of the problems with writing this page is the fluidity of the Crickets line-up. There is one identifiable omission though: David Box is not shown on the timeline graph. CPES ( talk) 10:18, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
In most cases, it seemed clear that the Crickets were group established by Holly after That'll Be the Day, but according to the following interview, it seems the Crickets were considered the same band as Holly's previous backing group: http://lubbockonline.com/entertainment/2012-04-09/crickets-credited-beatles-genesis#.V4gVgDkrJ-U Thoughts on this? Should the timeline for the Crickets now extend back to 1956 and include bassist Don Guess? - Disco dude rock ( talk) 07:12, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
