Vists from the stars

The article mentions the vists of George W. Bush and Gov. Arnold. This is not really accurate. They did not "vist" the city, did not address the public or any of that nonsense. They both came (twice each) for benefit dinners with local billionare Alex G. Spanos. I wouldn't cite these vists in Stockton's Wikipedia entry. They should go under AG Spanos.

-- Actually, Bush came and spent a substantial amount of time in Stockton. The Record has a Bush visits Stockton section all about it. Clinton came too. They were part of the Pombo/McNerney debates, so maybe those references could go under their entries also. -- Recordnet

-- Yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger has spoken publically in Stockton, CA. From the news:

Dear Californian,

Please join Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger this weekend at the following location as he makes announcements to the people of California regarding the State’s Budget.

Sunday, July 18, 2004, 1 p.m. Sherwood Mall - Food Court 5308 Pacific Avenue Stockton, California

Census definition of Non-Hispanic White

Current article reports 2000 Census states 43% White, then 2010 Census states 22% Non-Hispanic White: 2010 Census is accurate: 22% White. Re 2000 Census: Stockton was NEVER 43% white in this century. Census Enumerators allowing Latinos to call themselves White does not make them White. Whether or not you consider Latino a race or ethnicity does not change fact that you can tour Stockton in 2018 and never see a white face. US Census is wrong for using absurd sub-categories such as "White - Hispanic Heritage." At least 2010 Census is correct as stated: 22% Non-Hispanic White. 155.98.132.6 ( talk) 18:48, 24 January 2018 (UTC) reply

needs update of bankruptcy and crime sections

In the bankruptcy section it still says "if the judge approves"...

In the crime section the statistics stop years ago and there has been progress on this front. Unfortunately I am now firewalled (thanks, Record) and cannot this instant fix this. I have articles saying down from previous year, but none for the intervening six or seven years. I will get this if I can later but if anyone can do it sooner please do. Stockton is not the hellhole the article portrays. Elinruby ( talk) 19:22, 13 March 2019 (UTC) reply

Top employers

The Top employers section does not list the Port of Stockton yet that page says the port employs about 4,500 people. Sam Tomato ( talk) 19:43, 27 May 2021 (UTC) reply
