Sikh and Hindu population wrong

There seems to be a issue with the percentage as it says there are more Hindus then Sikhs in Punjab but Punjab India has more Sikhs then Sikhs and there are few Hindus in Paksitan Should be fixed to Sikhism 29 percent and Hinduism 10 percent but not sure how to fix it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.222.180.90 ( talk) 17:26, 11 May 2022 (UTC) reply

The percentages given appear to be about the entire historic region of Punjab, which in India also includes Haryana. – Uanfala ( talk) 14:03, 12 May 2022 (UTC) reply
there are 10 percent Sikhs in old Punjab in which haryana and Pakistan is add but now there are more Sikhs in Punjab than Hindus 2409:4055:2D1E:EBD5:B2BD:7157:2AD5:3677 ( talk) 08:14, 21 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Change the page's title

We could probably change the title of this page to Punjab (region) so it's less confusing! Agent05032 ( talk) 11:33, 18 November 2022 (UTC) reply

Additions and removals of content

Im going to add a lot more content to the history section on medieval punjab. The Vardhana empire, Katoch and Tomara dynasties, Tughlaq empire (Tughlaqs had Punjabi roots) and Rania sultana (Though she wasn't Punjabi her army was all from the Punjab) Trigarta ( talk) 22:05, 22 January 2023 (UTC) reply

Successfully added the following sections: Vardhana empire, Eastern Punjab republics, Tomara-katoch dynasties. Added more content to Mauryan empire and Hindu Shahi empire, and also organised history introduction in the introductory page.
Going to add more content on these sections slowly whilst adding furter content to the weakly described Delhi sultante section Trigarta ( talk) 16:26, 22 February 2023 (UTC) reply

URGENT: Those knowledgable in: Khalsa raj and Mugal empire sections in Punjab history

Ive noticed when organising the Modern period of Punjab that there was no Kalsa raj/Misls section and that the mughal empire history section was extremely weak. Ive copy and pasted some content from the 'History of Punjab' wiki in the mean time however can someone start to develop these sections with more content. Thanks Trigarta ( talk) 16:33, 22 February 2023 (UTC) reply

Too much history in the introduction

There seems to be too much history in the lede of the article.

"The Punjab is accredited for its colourful history in terms of its native dynasties and empires. Following Alexander the Great's invasion and his conflicts with Porus and the Malli tribe of Multan, Chandragupta allied with various Punjabi tribes...."

This entire paragraph feels more suited to the History section of the article than the lede. WP:LEAD says "The average Wikipedia visit is a few minutes long. The lead is the first thing most people will read upon arriving at an article, and may be the only portion of the article that they read. It gives the basics in a nutshell and cultivates interest in reading on—though not by teasing the reader or hinting at what follows. It should be written in a clear, accessible style with a neutral point of view".

This paragraph doesn't belong in the lede and may seem daunting to someone looking for a basic overview into the Punjab
