I just removed this from the top spot. The original edit introducing it was from 106.209.175.178, but that arbitrarily replaced Abraj Al Bait, and included an unreferenced, $15Bn number, which does not agree with the $2Bn estimate over on Antilia (building)). Still if $2Bn is accurate, it should be on this list, and the claim to "world's most expensive private residence" might be noted. AU Parliament
I get the strong sense that Parliament House, Canberra should be on this list. $1.1Bn AUD was around $710m USD in 1990 (I don't have data for 1988 forex) - it was the most expensive building in the world at the time. Going by US inflation rates (i.e. converting at 1990 rates, but from '88 to '12) the cost would be ~approx $1.4n today. Adelaide Myer Centre

There appear to be some discrepancies in and between the two lists which should be resolved. Among others:
a) The Shard is listed as the most expensive building at the time of completion (2012) at a price of US$ 3.9 bn. It does not, however, feature in the main list of most expensive buildings. Is this an oversight?
b) Marina Bay Sands is listed as having a total construction cost of US$ 5.50 bn although the main MBS article reports US$ 4.7 bn including the cost of the land. Are all the cost of construction figures including the land price?
Suggestions:
1. Column "Built" should be renamed to "Completed" - may also include a column "Started"
2. Open to more suggestions on how to improve the page...

ie.: The Palace of the Romanian Parliament, with an estimated cost of over 4 billions USD (as of 2006) it would be on number 3. E.g. ITER is not just a reactor. It's a facility containing multiple buildings.
Same goes for Olkiluoto 3. "Airports are excluded as their construction cost includes runways and systems" but also power plants include systems. Nuclear plants often consist of several buildings, cooling water inlets and outlets or cooling towers, sea walls or dikes, external power generators (with buildings), electricity substation(s), road and even rail connections (for fuel transportation). I'm new to WP so I don't want to do anything wrong, but I will make a suggestion: The figure of 6 bn as production cost of the New Karolinska Hospital is misleading. The source is an op-ed in a Swedish newspaper, and not any kind of official figure of itself. There has been considerable controversy surrounding the construction of this hospital, especially regarding its cost, so I think this op-ed is cited for biased reasons. The op-ed itself refers to an article/investigation by a reputable newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet, here: https://www.svd.se/nya-karolinska-tio-miljarder-kronor-dyrare-att-bygga. That article cites the constructions cost at 23.5 - 24 bn Swedish kronor (SEK) including furnishing with medical equipment at 5.5 - 6 bn. The other costs are extraneous, such as prior demolition and rezoning of the land where the hospital is built, and costs incurred due to diversion of patients etc. They are NOT construction costs. We still do not have an official final tally of the costs, but a more accurate number should be 24 bn SEK or 2.58 bn USD, including equipment. Rgrankvist ( talk) 12:30, 12 February 2019 (UTC)

SvD the cost is at least 25 bn sek, (2.7 bn USD). I cited the article and moved down the project to place 11, with the cost "c. 2.7 bn USD.
