• Each island in Hawaii has its own official flower.
• New York has a state bush, the lilac Syringa vulgaris, which is a flower but not a state flower. It's not in the list of trees, in any case, since it's not a tree.
• Texas has a state waterlily, the Nymphaea 'Texas Dawn' (cool name). I'm not sure if waterlilies are automatically considered flowers.
