Why did this page not mention what is probably the defining moment of his life - the mountain climbing accident that crushed his skull and face? Makes the Coe feud look like trivia... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.143.166.160 ( talk) 23:25, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Come on ya'll, no mention of his fued with David Allan Coe and how Coe accused Hank, Jr. of selling out and not upholding his fathers "Family Tradition"?
It says "and that his identical to those of Hank Williams" can someone tell me what that means in english?
And below that..."A Change in Appearance and Musical Direction" it states "The beard, hat, and sunglasses have since become his signature look, and he is rarely seen without them. In 1980, he appeared on the PBS show Austin City Limits during Season 5, along with The Shake Russell-Dana Cooper Band."
These two sentences are just awkward together. It's like "So what?" Was this TV show his first appearance after the fall? Did he appear WITHOUT his beard, hat, and/or sunglasses? What is so special about THAT PARTICULAR TV appearance? If someone knows, please expound. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FiggazWithAttitude ( talk • contribs) 14:23, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
The reference links are all the same - when the RIAA webpage has to post data to query its database (which is not included in the link) a hyperlink is not useful. This should be fixed. I would fix it, but I'm not sure what should be done. Link all to the RIAA search page?

Just thought it would be interesting to mention a couple of his colaborations with the New Country crowd between his peak in the 80's and the new generation of country artists that are refered to ... when he recorded with many of them such as Highway 101, Marty Stuart, Keith Whitley, Steve Earl .. on "Young Country".
Mind you, it was not long after that "If the South Would a Won" came out and I was working in Country Radio at the time at a major station in Canada, mind you, that was not apt to play it, I'm sure that was near the beginning of his slide for a while and wonder if that was a coincidence? Just wondering if there's any facts on that or research worth metioning.
The use of this seems non-NPOV, not to mention that this is the only place I have seen Hank Williams Jr described as such. Buster 20:54, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
I have a link here that states that Hank Williams Jr. sang the Canyonero song on The Simpsons Episode: The Last Temptation of Krust-please verify this: http://www.snpp.com/episodes/5F10 Silent 9:28, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
The timeline section midway down reverted to a first person rant, involving accusations of racism and "not being a true christian" Not exactly what belongs in an encyclopedia. I just deleted the entire offending section. Personal views don't have any place in the encyclopedia. If the material is reinserted please edit it to be more objective and please reference your sources. We also don't want any libel (slander?) issues. Williams is an avid gun enthusiast and has a very large collection of Civil War era weapons, including a number of cannons. Perhaps something could be included in the article about this? At the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee there is an interesting 20 minute interview in which Williams talks about the collection, including funny anecdotes about him and other country music stars (apparently Johnny Cash loved shooting the cannons). It appears that he is very fond of American history, and I think this aspect of his life should be included, or at least mentioned in the article. He has made a number of important contributions to our understanding of Civil War history through his work in the field.

There should be a mention of his widely-reported but apparently-aborted run for the GOP nod in the 2012 Tennessee Senate election. I expanded on that we do not know what he meant. The comment can be interpreted many ways, so we should not speculate on a single meaning. Unfortunately as ambiguous as the comment was, people are going to assume it meant different things. But for Wikipedia to remain neutral, as it must, we should not subscribe to a single meaning until we have proof. -- MahaPanta ( talk) 05:18, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
The whole 2011 Fox and Friends interview section is too long. Now its current and all over the news but in a few months its not going to matter and can/should be condensed into a few sentences. Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.226.213.135 ( talk) 00:21, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

How is it that when I looked him up on line, it has the following:
Hank Williams Jr.
American country singer-songwriter and musician
The son of country music's greatest name, and a superstar in his own right by painting himself as a rowdy redneck country-rocker in the '70s... en.wikipedia.org
Born: May 26, 1949 (age 71), Shreveport Spouse: Mary Jane Thomas (m. 1990-present), Becky White (m. 1977-1983), Gwen Yeargain Children: Hank Williams III, Holly Williams, Hilary Williams Parents: Hank Williams Net worth: $45 million (celebritynetworth.com) Active from: 1957 Genre: Country, Country-Rock, Outlaw Country, Pop/Rock, Southern Rock, Traditional Country, Urban Cowboy
Yet, when I go to the actual wiki page for him, none of that is there? Also, word is going around that he had a 27 year old daughter named Katherine Williams-Dunning who was killed yesterday in an automobile accident. Therefore, the wikipedia article needs to be updated and whatever else needs done involving a person involved in a recent event such as this.

I don't really follow pop culture, and I don't follow country singers at all (the only reason I'm here is looking up Hank Jr. is as a result of being on an 'old songs' kick). Therefore, this sentence doesn't tell me anything more than 'he married someone named Brandi': "On September 9, 2023, Williams married Brandi"
I have a cousin named Brandi, but I really doubt that's who he married. Brandi who? Is this some sort of celebrity who is only known by one name but, somehow, doesn't show up on Google that way and isn't worthy of being linked to a Wikipedia page?
Maybe, just maybe, there should be at least a little more context here.

I do not know how to edit wiki pages but the death of Katherine Williams-Dunning is incorrect. The year should be 2020, not 2023. 161.82.107.252 ( talk) 16:19, 17 January 2024 (UTC)
