I propose to merge Continental America to this article. Arguably the issue is actually dealt with in full here... and whether "Continental America" as opposed to "Continental United States" even rates as a plausible redirect is another question. In any case, the entire difference between the two terms can be summed up in one or two sentences; there seems to be no need for a separate article. -- Elmidae ( talk · contribs) 22:15, 20 May 2019 (UTC) reply

• Support - Clear fork (but probably not an intentional CFORK), as Continental United States was merged here years ago, and this was split/created without any previous discussion. • merge As an Alaskan it's hard to overstate how much I hate it when people use "continental" when they mean the contiguous states, ignoring the obvious fact that Alaska is very much on the same continent. Of course that's just my opinion but I believe the nominator makes a compelling case for merging, since the two terms mean almost the same thing and explaining the difference in one article is trivially simple (and already done). While I was reading this article, I came across this,

"Brazil is 431,000 square kilometers (166,000 sq mi) larger than the contiguous United States, but smaller than the entire United States, while Russia, Canada, and maybe China are the only countries larger than both."

Maybe? I'm confused. It should be that China is bigger than the whole U. S., or China is not bigger than the U. S. I thought that Wikipedia articles had to have some facts and truth to it, not "maybe". MasterWolf0928-Æthelwulf ( talk) 17:57, 14 September 2022 (UTC) reply
