methane hotspot

The New Mexico Environment Department has a map that shows airborne methane concentration across the continental US (at a low resolution). The most concentrated hotspot is around the San Juan Generating Station in New Mexico, but the next after that seems to be the middle of the Central Valley (surrounding Kingsburg, California). Are there tertiary sources that discuss this? Arlo James Barnes 01:47, 8 June 2022 (UTC) reply

Share of the nation's agricultural output

The article asserts in the second paragraph that the Central Valley "provides more than half of the fruits, vegetables, and nuts grown in the United States". It cites a document (item 3 on the list of references) that makes that assertion for California as a whole. Is that assertion true and needs better support? Or is it not true and should be corrected? The assertion seems highly unlikely as there are several other highly productive agricultural areas in California. GauchoBear ( talk) 12:56, 25 October 2023 (UTC) reply

California field in infobox

JustSumVerySmartKids added a field to the infobox with label of "California" with value " Northern California, Central California, Southern California". I think this is not helpful for our readers for the following reasons:

  • There already is a "location" row with value " California, United States". That is the proper place for the location of a valley.
  • Using the label "California" is confusing to our readers. That isn't a standard field in an valley infobox, even for valleys inside of California.
  • Listing all three major regions of " Northern California, Central California, Southern California" is uninformative: the infobox just says that California is composed of its three main regions.

Given that the new row is confusing and uninformative, I would propose removing it. — hike395 ( talk) 16:25, 31 March 2024 (UTC) reply

User seems to be adding completely made up "information" to various articles, if they don't stop then a block seems appropriate. Shannon [ Talk ] 22:59, 1 April 2024 (UTC) reply
