- I made some corrections. The word "and" is not capitalized in a title unless it's the first or last word. Also it's "Bill Haley with Haley's Comets" not "Bill Haley's" with Haley's Comets. I removed the label name information as that's not really necessary for this part of the list. - No one knew about that fact: "R U D O L P H" "P O M P I L L I I" americanized his first name in "Rudy" (and written a little bit before as "Rudi" (DECCA Session 22nd.09.1955) OK? :-)"Rudi" was taken from the Bear Family annotations on the booklet (Decca Sessions, Sept. 22, 1955 then the used spelling of the Decca Sessions on March 12, 1956 was "Rudy") inside the 5 LP box set issued in 1981. Anyway, the ypsilon did not/still doesn't exist in Italian and the "X" and the "W" as well...

- Chris Gardner has responded to your comments at Talk:Bill Haley. Please don't try to convince me that Pompilli's first name was spelled anything other than Rudy or Rudolph. The Whisky a go go LP was released under the name Bill Haley and His Comets (Mr. Go Go/live) then issued in the UK on EMBER in 1969. Not 1968!!!

- DIM is Dimsa, while Maya was a reissue label. Haley never actually recorded for either; they just re-released recordings made for Orfeon (and also Decca and Sonet). If we were to list all the re-issue labels, there would be hundreds. 23skidoo 13:16, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Noting that Elvis, Chuck Berry and other contemporaries have articles about their individual record albums, I have started a series of articles on the album releases by the Comets. These articles need album cover images. I no longer submit images to Wikipedia, so someone else will need to do this. As I understand WP:CITE, non-professoinal online sources such as the IMDb and Amazon reviews are not allowed as sources for citing facts in an article. In particular, I have removed a statement, sourced by an Amazon review, that stated that Freed and others began playing Rock Around the Clock because of the success of Shake Rattle and Roll and Dim Dim the Lights. None of my printed reference works nor my direct contacts related to Haley (yeah, yeah, WP:NOR) support this. The interest in Rock Around the Clock, as indicated in the new Rock n' Roll is Born documentary, came from Blackboard Jungle using it. Before that, it was seen as a failed single no different than, say, Haley's earlier failed single "Straight Jacket". 23skidoo ( talk) 12:19, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
I think the add of Bill Haley's ultimate LP released by Sonet on its budget label EUROPA, Germany, 1980 is a good one. This vinyl LP is practically unknown but I can tell everyone I bought it in March 1981 along with the 1979 Sonet other LP. I don't know if it was only issued in Germany. No traces in other countries. - I'm sorry, but I disagree and have removed it. The list is not intended for compilations -- otherwise there would be hundreds of titles listed -- unless said compilations include previously unreleased recordings. The Europa release would have no new Haley material because Bill Haley made no recordings in 1978 (which was after he had retired and before he returned to touring and recording in 1979) and 1980, when except for a tour of South Africa he was mostly in and out of hospital because of his illness. The fact there may be other recordings by others doesn't count because this list is supposed to be for Bill Haley & The Comets, not other artists. Wikipedia has a tendency to frown upon these kinds of lists, so we need to be very strict as to the criteria, otherwise someone could come along and in good faith remove the lot. 23skidoo ( talk) 14:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- The question is: where these Sonet budget label EUROPA songs are from? A few months ago, Klaus Kettner (owner of Hydra Records) told me the songs were coming from Dave Miller's catalogue. Anyway, all the songs cut by Haley are new versions. I've never heard them on any other LPs...

To add further information of the 1979 UK dates. I played guitar and vocals in his Cambridge UK date back then as support to a successful show as Flash Dave and the Thunderbolts. The venue was the Kelsey Kerridge Sports Hall Cambridge UK( 5000 seats) on November 24th 1979. I have posters and press cuttings to support this. Musictada ( talk) 19:39, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
The discography is terribly cluttered, confusing, and needs an overhaul. There is a section for single releases, which is nice and neat, but it has no dates and chart positions. The chart position section is miserable. They should combined, or at least fixed. Cashbox seems unnecessary, and the dates are for charting and not release. Rock Around The Clock Scandal
At one point when Bill Haley & His Comets were performing Rock Around the Clock live an incident occurred when a bunch of fans started going crazy and even going up on stage and throwing a bunch of instruments around. This was because Rock Around the Clock was supposed to be about the World Ending which a lot of people in the newer generation didn't realize. During the incident Bill Haley jumped off stage and ran off. The Rock Around the Clock Scandal is one of The Top 100 Music Scandals in music history.
I have read quite a bit of the history of rock and roll and I have never heard of this. I also did a Google search on "Rock Around Clock Scandal" with no results.

Anonymous user 118.136.31.183 has plagiarized the copy from the Deep Impact page and linked the headline, both of which are no-no's. User 118.136.31.183: either re-write this with a direction directly based on the Comets of leave it out of here. It's clear that "Bill Haley and His Comets" is more accurate and common than "Bill Haley & His Comets". Should not the page be moved to reflect this? 24.235.74.199 ( talk) 18:43, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
