Yehudi Menuhin was also a baron (but not a Belgian one). The Wednesday Island ( talk) 05:07, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
Was there ever a formal "Grumiaux Ensemble", to be capitalized as such? The Grumiaux Trio, with Janzer and Czako, often played and recorded together as a specific group over a number of years, but I had been under the impression that Gérecz and Lesueur were essentially pickups just for the 1973 Mozart quintets. The booklet for the Philips Mozart Edition reprint simply lists the five names, with no mention of Grumiaux as leader, but perhaps the original issue does identify them as a group. Some oddness on this. The sources all agree that it's awarded by the Belgium government, but I've yet to track down a central resource on it. One of the sources says he was the only recipient, [1] ever; this seems unlikely. [2] More importantly, EB says he was awarded it in 1940 and was the first recipient; [3] this book hints at the same, but doesn't actually say it - "newly instituted". That disagrees with this page on Eric Feldbusch. [4] Bromley86 ( talk) 04:08, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
There's a number of IPs that keep adding back unnecessary detail on the competition. I refer you to the draft page that you've failed to get approved, here, for the reasons why the detail on the competitions should not be added.
Repeatedly added back text and refusing to talk will just get you banned or the page protected. Bromley86 ( talk) 09:57, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
I think that it is best that the competition listed in this article should be separated as there is already an suggestion for it and I have not seen any musician that has a competition connected to them attached in the same article. I feel the competition itself is separate from Arthur Grumiaux and have the competition placed into a its own article like other violin competitions. JeffreyViolin ( talk) 10:38, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
